DES Company Profile
"DES consults in a wide variety of environmental specialties"
DES also conducts groundwater and soils investigations, subsurface geologic and hydrological studies, and Groundwater Monitoring Plans in support of landfill, waste water treatment plant and effluent re-use water irrigation project permit applications. Our personnel and subcontractors have extensive experience in the area of storage tank services, hazardous/non-hazardous waste management and environmental compliance audits. By minimizing overhead and using highly specialized subconsultants on an as needed basis, we provide the highest quality of environmental services at a cost-effective price. High-priced consulting firms pass onto their clients the cost of maintaining a staff of specialists who are infrequently used in their area of specialty. We prefer working closely with specialized independent consultants and using only those whose services are required for a particular project. Licenses DES is incorporated and licensed to do business in the state of Florida. Our operations base and occupational licensing is in Brevard County, Florida. Thomas L. Daley, P.G., President and Principal Geologist, is a registered Professional Geologist in the state of Florida. All subconsultants and contractors used by DES are required to hold the necessary licenses/permits to complete project tasks within regulatory requirements. Insurance DES maintains $3,000,000.00 in insurance coverage for professional liability, commercial general liability, and contractors pollution liability. Clients may be listed as an additional insured on this policy. Higher coverage is available to meet certain clients requirements. Moreover, all subconsultants and subcontractors are required to provide proof of appropriate insurance coverage for the service provided- and in no case lower than that of DES or client requirements. Quality Assurance/Quality Control At DES, we conduct all field operations in accordance with the procedures outlined in a state-approved Comprehensive Quality Assurance Plan (CompQAP #970165), or a site-specific Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP), where required. DES enforces strict QA/QC control measures on employees as well as subcontractors and subconsultants. To detect potential problems, DES performs periodic audits and, if required, takes immediate corrective actions to prevent compromise of a project. We require all subcontractors and subconsultants to maintain our high level of commitment to QA/QC. Health and Safety DES takes health and safety seriously, adopting a Corporate Health and Safety Plan (HASP) to which all personnel and all subcontractors and subconsultants must comply. Field personnel are required to have completed a 40-hour hazardous waste worker training program in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910; and, they must remain current with annual 8-hour refresher classes. On-site supervisors must have completed the OSHA 8-hour Site Supervisor certification. When required, we develop site-specific HASPs that address issues related to a particular project. All personnel- including subconsultants and subcontractors- are required to read, understand, and sign the site-specific HASP prior to entering the project site area. |
